Job Locations US-IL-Chicago

Overview:

Handle network systems administration for our Chicago, Virginia and Atlanta operations.  Provide provisioning, Troubleshooting, installation/configuration, operation monitoring and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for local network systems administration and telecommunications Setup
  • Ability to manage complex projects; develop project plans & contingencies.
  • Develop guidelines for system changes, upgrades and coordinating implementation.
  • Maintain system standards and procedures.
  • Maintain internal system requirements with the ability to recommend newer more stable technologies.
  • Provide local and remote IT user support for PC’s, Laptops and printers including setup and deployment.
  • Responsible for server and backup system administration.
  • Perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems including all backups and system updates.
  • Hardware and software troubleshooting
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years Windows 2003/2008 and REHL mixed environment including familiarity with AD, Exchange 2010, DHCP, DNS and IIS7. MS and Linux certifications a plus
  • 3+ Years working in a VMWare virtual infrastructure
  • 3+ years SQL Server 2008 server management a plus
  • 3+ years working with Cisco/Entrasys, routers and Firewalls, Cisco Certification is a plus.
  • Hardware/Software experience in Dell Equal logics and NetApp, F5 load balancer, Dell Blade servers, Force10, ComVault, PRTG, LogRythm a plus.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented individual with the ability to follow-up and follow through on multiple tasks
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral
  • Self motivated team player with the ability to work closely with engineering, other location IT staff and application development groups.
  • Experience in troubleshooting network connectivity issues.
  • Experience working in and monitoring the operation of a 24 x 7 x 365 data center.
  • Security or wireless industry experience a plus
  • Readily available/on call.  Evening and weekend work required.
