Overview:

Designs and implements firmware applications in C using applicable coding standards.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement firmware applications in C using applicable coding standards.
• Analyze existing code to locate defects, determine their cause, and implement solutions.
• Work with Product Verification Testing daily and review test plans to ensure complete functional coverage, enable an automation strategy, and provide technical assistance
• Supervise installation and migration of existing applications and monitoring tools, and provide direct support to operations personnel.
• Attend planning sessions for new products and projects, and take a leadership role in various application initiatives.
• Interaction on a daily or weekly basis with other functional groups, such as manufacturing and marketing
• Provide guidance and mentoring to other engineers, and “lead by example” with respect to quality and schedule awareness.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelors degree in EE, Computer Science or Mathematics is required.
• 7+ as a DBA in a multi-tier configuration on MS SQL platforms is required.
• The successful applicant must have a detailed understanding of relational database modeling and design concepts (e.g. keys, indexes, triggers, stored procedures and clustering).
• Experience with remote redundancy designs, as well as designing and implementing a disaster recovery plan, is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in the wireless industry (GSM or CDMA) is a plus.
• Experience leading and/or working with outsourced engineering groups is a plus.
• Experience in the machine-to-machine (M2M) industry is beneficial.
